Twenty-one years ago, a single classroom in Murshidabad. Today, five institutions, six government centres, and thousands of students who went on to build careers they could not have otherwise.
Our story
From one classroom to five institutions.
Chakraborty Group was founded in 2005 by Mr. Prasanna Chakraborty in Seharabazar, Khandaghosh, Purba Bardhaman — a district where students with ambition rarely had access to the kind of training that could actually get them hired.
The founding idea was simple: quality, practical education at a price a rural family could afford, delivered close enough to home that students would not have to choose between studying and working to support that family.
Quality education should not be a privilege of geography or income. It should be the rule.
What began as a computer training initiative grew steadily through six government Youth Computer Training Centres, a competitive examination coaching institute, and — eventually — an aerospace research division, a design and 3D printing studio, and a business consulting practice.
Growth journey

Chakraborty Group established
Mr. Prasanna Chakraborty founds the group in Seharabazar, Khandaghosh, Purba Bardhaman, with a single mission: affordable, practical education for rural students.
Six government YCTCs established
Six Youth Computer Training Centres are set up across the district under government recognition, staffed by locally trained faculty.
Utsav Coaching Institution launched
Structured batch programmes for WBCS, SSC, Railway, Banking and other competitive examinations.
PrintDAI and Productive Services launched
The design, AI and 3D printing studio and the business consulting practice open to serve students and commercial clients.
Chakraborty Aerospace opens
Rocket design, UAV and satellite research begins under Utsav Chakraborty — with students on the Bangashakti programme.

Founding Chairperson
Mr. Prasanna Chakraborty
Born into a financially underprivileged family in the village of Bhaluka, Nadia, Mr. Prasanna Chakraborty grew up understanding what it meant to want an education and not have a clear path to it. That experience became the foundation of everything he built.
He established Chakraborty Group in 2005 with one aim: make career-oriented education affordable and locally available for students who would otherwise have to leave their district — or give up entirely.
“Success is not measured by what we achieve for ourselves, but by the opportunities we create for others.”
His leadership produced six government training centres, a coaching institute, and more than thirty sustained employment opportunities in the district. He passed away in Punjab in 2024, but his vision continues to direct every initiative the group undertakes.
His legacy, our direction
Today Chakraborty Group carries his work forward by expanding into aerospace research, artificial intelligence, 3D printing and entrepreneurship — all in service of the same original aim: creating opportunities for students who need them most.

Aerospace engineer, researcher and entrepreneur. Mission Director of the Bangashakti rocket programme and Director of the Swaraj Rover Project. Author of four research papers, book chapter contributor, and reviewer for more than 21 international journals.
